It's really wonderful when the pictures I draw move softly and try to communicate something more actively. It's even better when they are drawn by hand. I think hand-drawn animation that has that human touch is the best. It's like real food, not something mass-produced by a machine in a factory, you know?
Animation truly requires intense focus to create. When I've drawn for a long time and only managed to create 1 or 2 seconds, and then those pieces gather to become dozens of seconds or even a few minutes, I feel genuinely happy. I think this is a primal sense of joy. That must be why viewers like it too.
